Happy Mother's Day! This week, we at Avia are celebrating our momma gamers by asking, why do moms play mobile games on Mother's Day? So, before the big day, we sent out surveys to our dedicated Bingo Tour, Solitaire Clash, and our Pocket7Games mom players to ask about them and the impact our games have made.
But first, we should ask ourselves, when is Mother's Day? Mother's Day 2024 falls on Sunday, May 12th. This is a great day to let the mothers in your life know just how much you appreciate them! Often on this day, the best gift that can be given to a mom is time spent together doing whatever they want, even if it's just to sit back and relax.
With these thoughts in mind, we at Avia set out to uncover the reasons behind why moms play mobile games, and the results of this survey just might surprise you! With over 200 million gamers in the U.S. in 2024, our mom gamers at Avia certainly aren't taking a back seat! In fact, nearly 90% of those we surveyed said they play mobile games daily.

By digging into the results of our survey, we were able to shed some light on the mobile gaming preferences of our mom gamers, and how mobile gaming helps them feel. Using these results, we can further Avia's mission of ensuring everyone can unleash their competitive spirit, and embrace the thrill of competition while winning real cash! These are Avia's key takeaways from the survey:
Moms Play Mobile Games for Relaxation and Entertainment: Over 90% of our Avia gamers reported that mobile games help relieve stress and that they play games for entertainment. This makes sense in today's fast-paced world, where moms often face the stress of juggling many things at once. Over the years, mobile gaming has evolved from a mere entertainment outlet into an important means of stress relief. Mobile games allow moms to escape the pressures of daily life by immersing themselves in digital worlds of adventure.
Mobile Games are Helpful in Improving Moms' Moods: 70% of moms surveyed said that playing mobile games improved their mood by providing a way for them to unwind and recover. In addition, more than 40% reported feeling joy and excitement while playing mobile games, and 50% found that mobile games were the most effective way to improve their mood after work or when looking for entertainment. Besides the mobile games themselves, the social aspect of mobile gaming can also help bridge connections with friends and loved ones, creating a sense of inclusion and community. In the future, mobile gaming will certainly solidify itself as an innovative way to provide a needed escape from daily life in the modern world.
Moms are Motivated by Rewards and Achievements: Our survey found that 65% of our players are incentivized to continue playing to earn rewards, achievements, or a leaderboard rank. Essentially, incentives like these form an important part of the positive mobile gaming experience, aside from the "fun" aspect that is at the center of it all. This makes sense as mobile games are a powerful tool that can be used to challenge the mind, enhance problem-solving skills, and promote quick thinking!
